About Us

2018

The Powerbase Institute was launched in 2017 with the vision to help young individuals from under-represented and disadvantaged backgrounds. Members of our alumni programme were invited to work with a foundation in Malawi, providing help to orphans in Malawi through volunteering to educate them and support in general social and well-being initiatives

Young Genius 

Fellows of the Young Genius programme, otherwise known as architects of the future, are empowered with the creative capacity and vision to function as catalysts for change. This programme is tailored for young people with the aptitude for becoming critical influencers, thought leaders, industry leaders, and voices of authority.

2019

This year, we saw the launch of our mentorship programmes.

Fellows of the Churchill programme are empowered with leadership and statesmanship qualities needed to push against all odds and against the boundaries of norms in order to pioneer innovations and best practice in their chosen areas of expertise.

Fellows of the Renaissance programme are empowered to function as architects of culture able to instigate, design and implement new thinking into the existing fabric of society. This programme is tailored for innovators and entrepreneurs able to produce advancements that improve life as we know it for humanity.

2023

As the years went by, The Powerbase Institute got busier! We celebrated the graduation of our 1st cohort who then became alumnus, the launch of our 2nd cohort who went on to take part in various activities through the summer, Arizona State university & Howard paid us a visit all the way from the USA & the launch of our T-Level programme took place through our Renaissance programme. 

2022

Our doors opened to the first cohort of The Young Genius Programme. This was a series of activities as well as learning life skills where our students had the chance to take part in building a business, learning what it takes to run it successfully.

2021

The launch of the Young Genius Programme, Renaissance programme and Churchill programme all took place and had an influx of people who showed massive interest and wanted to partake in our mentorship schemes.

2020

We launched a tech school called Naka Tech Academy that trained over 300 students across the globe from Malawi, Zambia, Morocco, Nigeria and the UK. Young people were trained in digital marketing, cyber security, software engineering and money on the block chain. Students were provided laptops, phones and broadband network

2024

We've collaborated with partners such as Bayer UK to provide young students from under-represented groups with the exposure to STEM related career paths.
